Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream #13

this is the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #13 - Warm Beige/Beige Chaud. it's a cream eyeshadow that claims to be waterproof and long wearing without creasing or smudging under the most extreme conditions.
i bought this shade in a blog sale, so i got it for less. normally it's 21.90€ and is available on kultkosmetik.de in germany. it contains 6g. it comes in a small plastic jar, it's light and simple and travel-friendly. the lid closes very tight.

the texture is quite hard but is easily melting into a light sheer shimmering finish. it sets very fast, so you need to work quick to blend it evenly, also only apply a thin layer and load up your brush/finger with a very small amount of product to avoid it getting uneven. i love using MAC 217-type brushes with it. it's easy to apply evenly and blend out at once with such a shape and density.

#13 is a golden beige shade with a metallic finish. if you sheer it out, it has a soft shimmer. this shade is recommended to be used on the eyes and the cheeks, not for lips.
i like to apply it as an all over eyeshadow, it really brightens up my eyes. i can even apply it on my lower waterline to get a super-polished glowing eye look. it's also great as a base shade for every sort of colour (you know i love gold shimmer ;) ). i can imagine it would look good peeking through mermaidy blues or autumny warm berry or maroon shades other than neutral colours only. or giving cool toned silvers and taupes a warmer hue. very versatile to combine.

the staying power though, isn't quite as fantastic as i would assume by reading the claims. when i wear it on its own, after about 8 hours i get heavy creasing with this shade, it gets sticky and goopy and gathers in my eyelid crease. i'm a bit disappointed with it, i have liked it so much as a quick and easy all over colour. i mean, ok, i have oily lids, but other cream shadows (such as Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadows or MAC's Paint Pots) stay on much better than this, which even claimed to resist the "most extreme" conditions and as MUFE is a more professional brand to me, i thought they must be even more resistant...
with a powder eyeshadow on top, it holds up 10h with only a bit of creasing in the inner corner.

as i'm writing this review, i notice that i still haven't introduce to you my other shade of this line which i own a lot longer, #2 Acier/Steel. i will catch up on that soon :)

this is how it looks applied, i did 2 different looks with it:
MUFE Aqua Cream #13 all over the lid and on the lower lashline.
MUFE Aqua Cream #13 all over the lid and lower lash line, with Barry M Dazzle Dust in #89 Oyster Grey blended over and Hourglass Exhibition (dark shade) as a soft liner in the middle and outer parts.

comparison
MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection - MUFE Aqua Cream #13 - Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Brithday Suit
MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection - MUFE Aqua Cream #13 - Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Brithday Suit
in comparison to my other shimmering light neutral cream eyeshadows, it's more gold and less pink than MAC Vintage Selection and warmer and more metallic than Benefit Birthday Suit.

what about you? do you like the Aqua Creams? do you also have the same texture- or creasing problem?
